Do You Need A Trainer?

Don't get me wrong, I am not against having a trainer. In fact, last week I worked with one three days. But it was on the third day that I was presented a contract to sign. I was told it was just for liability purposes but when I glanced at it there was a payment time schedule for the next 6 months and a lot more than just a liability waiver.

My question, is this normal? And initially I want to workout three times a week. But the problem with committing to three times a week in a contract is what about the weeks/days I will be out of town? Am I committed to paying for those days when I will not be around?

How many of you have a trainer? If you do, do you sign a contract? If you sign a contract, how long is the contract for? I don't mean to sound clueless but I am new to this.

And as a footnote, my trainer is working my butt off. She is doing what she is suppose to do. I haven't worked that hard in a long time.

Until next time . . .

What is your issues with being 50?

So how is being in your 50's different than other age groups when it comes to food choices and exercise?

I can only speak from personal experience. From the exercise angle, I am not as quick as I once one. And I always have had issues with flexibility and my core strength. No doubt these are areas I will be working on. Portion control is an area I have been better with in the past few years. But I still snack way too much. Sometimes I snack and I hardly realize I am doing it or I don't think I am eating that much.

Do any of these issues resonate with you?

Welcome!

Welcome to my "Fit in my Fifties" blog!  I am starting on this journey to finally become fit and healthy. I am hoping to share my journey with you and I hope you will share your story.

Starting on Monday I will be working with a personal trainer. I need some consistency and commitment to this journey and hope a personal trainer along with journaling will be helpful. I understand not everyone can afford a personal trainer but I look at it as an investment now to prevent health care costs later in my life.

I promise to share what my training sessions consist of. I will be training 3 days of week and another 2-3 on my own. In addition to my exercise, I will be sharing my food plans.  A structured diet plan is not what I plan on following. Just smaller portion and balanced foods is what eating plan will be. Not going to  forego any major food category.

Wishing all of us success!
